• DISPERSION OF CONTAMINANT IN UNSTEADY OSCILLATORY FLOW BOUNDED BY POROUS LAYER

P. M. Balagondar, G. S. Prasad*

Abstract

The paper presents the study of Dispersion of contaminant in unsteady oscillatory flow of an incompressible fluid between two infinite parallel plates bounded by porous layer under the influence of pressure gradient in the axial direction. Analytical solution of unsteady convective diffusion based on Aris-Barton method of moments is presented up to the second moments about the mean and then a finite difference implicit scheme based on the crank-Nicholson method has been adopted to solve the remaining equation up to fourth moments.
