• A MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF HERSCHEL-BULKLEY FLUID THROUGH AN INCLINED TUBE OF UNIFORM CROSS-SECTION WITH OVERLAPPING STENOSIS

Abstract


The steady of Herschel-Bulkley fluid through an inclined tube of uniform cross-section with an overlapping stenosis has been investigated. Assuming the stenosis to be mild the flow equations have been linearised and the expressions for resistance to the flow and wall shear stress have been derived. It is found that the flow resistance increases with the height of the stenosis, power law index and angle of inclination.
