• MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF WATER UPTAKE BY SPHERICAL BULB SURFACE AND WATER PROFILE SURROUNDING THE BULB SURFACE OF BEET

Abstract


T. Roose studied mathematical models for water uptake by the plant root assuming root as cylinder. Instead of cylindrical root, we consider mature Beet bulbs cultivated in Indian soil, which are nearly about spherical in shape. In this paper write description of mathematical modeling for water uptake by spherical bulb surface and water profile in bulb surface, i.e., in cortex tissues, in xylem tube of bulb, also in the surrounding porous soil, considering root as sphere instead of cylindrical. We use basic principles of physics and fluid-dynamics of water flow. Tiny xylem tubes as water transport channel in the bulb, the bulb surface work as semi permeable membrane and soil is considered as porous medium. We solve mathematical model of water profile using extreme parameter and different boundary conditions by analytically.
