• MODIFIED EPIDEMIC MODEL WITH SATURATED INCIDENCE RATE AND REDUCED TRANSMISSION UNDER TREATMENT

Abstract


In this paper we have studied an SIR epidemic model with saturated incidence rate. An epidemic model under a Treatment function with Saturated Incidence Rate was studied by Zhang and Liu [9] under the assumption that while contracting with infected individuals, the susceptible individuals become infected. We have modified the model under the condition that after infection, only a fraction of transmitted part is shifted to infectious and remaining part gets recovered without becoming infectious. Existence and stability of the diseases free and endemic equilibrium are considered. Numerical results are also provided to justify the stability.
