• HOW IS PERCEIVED THE FINANCIAL MATHEMATICS TEACHING PROCESS MEDIATED BY ICT? (Differs by type of students and university?)

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are mean differences in the theoretical model of Universidad Cristóbal Colón (UCC) and the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP) which explains the perception towards financial mathematics. 512 students were surveyed: 298 belong to the UCC and 214 to UASLP. The test perception was applied towards to financial mathematics scale (APTFMS)  by García and Edel (2008) composed of six factors: history of mathematics, workshop type class, spreadsheet programming, financial simulators design, computer platforms and virtual learning communities. In applying multigroup analysis of means and covariance structures to the data, the results show there is a difference among the perception of students toward to a discipline object of study and to demonstrate that UCC students seem to have a better perception than UASLP students.
