• THE NUMERICAL STUDY ON INFLUENCE OF THE OPEN SQUARE CAVITY WITH INTERNAL HEAT SOURCE

A. SHAREEF*, R. SIVA PRASAD

Abstract

In the current study, Finite Element Method has been used to convert the non-linear coupled partial differential equations for flow and temperature field into a matrix form of equations, which can be solved iteratively with the help of a computer code. The Galerkin Finite Element Method of three nodded triangular elements is used to divide the physical domain into smaller segments, which is a pre-requisite for finite element method. Numerical results are presented in terms of stream functions, isotherms, temperature profiles and Nusselt numbers.
