• EFFECT OF POROUS MEDIUM ON BLOOD FLOW THROUGH AN ARTERY WITH MILD STENOSIS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF TRANSVERSE MAGNETIC FIELD

Abstract


In this paper, we investigate the effect of porous medium on blood flow in a stenosed artery under the influence of transverse magnetic field. It is assumed that blood is Newtonian fluid. The analytical expression for velocity profile, volumetric flow rate, pressure gradient and shear stress has developed. These expressions reveal significant alterations in blood due to stenosis. It is observed that the velocity profile is slightly decreases and volumetric flow rate are slightly increases with the increase of the permeability of the porous medium. The results are discussed graphically.
