• UNSTEADY FLOW OF DUSTY VISCO-ELASTIC [OLDROYD (1958) MODEL] FLUID THROUGH POROUS MEDIUM IN A LONG CURVILINEAR QUADRILATERAL TUBE
Abstract
The aim of the present chapter is to study the unsteady flow of a dusty visco-elastic [Oldroyd (1958) model] fluid through porous medium in a long uniform tube whose cross-section is a curvilinear quadrilateral bounded by the arcs and radii of two concentric circles under the influence of time dependent pressure gradient. Expressions for the velocities of visco-elastic fluid and the dust particles are obtained by using integral transforms. Some particular cases for different pressure gradients have been discussed in detail. The results for dusty visco-elastic Kuvshiniski liquid, Rivlin-Ericksen liquid and purely viscous liquid can be deduced by taking limits (i) (ii) and (iii) respectively. The results for velocity of the visco-elastic fluid and the dust particles can be obtained in the absence of porous medium by taking limit.
