• UNSTEADY FLOW OF ELASTICO-VISCOUS [OLDROYD (1958) MODEL] DUSTY FLUID THROUGH A CURVILINEAR QUADRILATERAL TUBE BOUNDED BY THE ARCS AND RADII OF TWO CONCENTRIC CIRCLES UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF TIME DEPENDENT PRESSURE GRADIENT

Abstract


The unsteady unidirectional flow of an elastico-viscous [Oldroyd (1958) model] fluid, embedded with uniform small spherical dust particles through a long uniform tube, whose cross-section is a curvilinear quadrilateral bounded by the arcs and radii of two concentric circles under the influence of time varying pressure gradient, has been discussed. Explicit expressions for the exact velocities of the fluid and particles are obtained by using various Integral transforms. Particular cases for different types of pressure gradients: (i) an impulsive pressure gradient (ii) constant pressure gradient (iii) harmonically oscillating pressure gradient and (iv) exponentially increasing pressure gradient have also been discussed in detail.
