• STRATIFIED VISCOUS FLOW THROUGH POROUS MEDIUM IN A LONG UNIFORM RECTANGULAR CHANNEL

Abstract


In the present paper the flow of a stratified viscous fluid through porous medium in  a rectangular channel in which the upper side moves and the fluid motion is influenced by time dependent pressure gradient, has been studied. Velocity distributions in some particular cases when the pressure gradient becomes constant, exponentially decreasing function of time and oscillating have also been deduced. The effects of stratification parameter when the pressure gradient in particular is constant, are represented graphically.
