• EFFECT OF VISCOUS DISSIPATION ON A DUSTY FLUID OVER A STRETCHING SHEET WITH PRESCRIBED SURFACE HEAT FLUX

Abstract


The viscous dissipation effects on a steady two-dimensional boundary layer flow and heat transfer characteristics of a dusty fluid over a stretching sheet is analyzed. Governing partial differential equations have been transformed by a similarity transformation into a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations. Obtained highly non-linear equations are solved numerically using Runge Kutta Fehlberg fourth-fifth order method. The effect of various physical parameters like fluid particle interaction parameter, suction parameter, Prandtl number and Eckert number on velocity and temperature of both fluid and dust phase are analyzed. The skin friction and heat transfer coefficients are tabulated for a range of values of the parameters.
