• COMPUTER EXTENDED SERIES SOLUTION OF THREE DIMENSIONAL FLOW IN A POROUS CHANNEL

Abstract


The analysis of three-dimensional flow of a viscous incompressible fluid driven along a channel by uniform suction through parallel porous walls is considered. The vorticity equation and equation of continuity are reduced to a non-linear ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformations. The governing nonlinear coupled ordinary differential equations with the relevant boundary conditions are solved by using computer extended series analysis. The objective is to obtain an expression in a power series of R and look for its analytic continuation. The coefficients generated in the expansion are universal. This is accomplished using novel semi numerical schemes based on combinatorial concepts, as well as Mathematica. The converging Pade’sums of the series, for sufficiently large R, gives analytic continuation of the series solution of governing equations. Comparisons of predicted values of skin friction based on numerical findings are given and in the present analysis these are valid for much larger values of R.
