• MHD Flow Over a Nonlinear Stretching Sheet: An Approximate Analytical Solution

Abstract


The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of a viscous incompressible and electrically conducting fluid over a continuously stretching surface is considered. The governing equation is derived as a function of two parameters: the magnetic parameter M and stretching parameter β and is solved via the method of stretching of variables which is one of the best available approximate methods. The results are compared and are in good agreement with that of direct numerical solution and previous studies. The effects of the above parameters are shown on velocity profile and skin friction coefficient.
